Nikki Tippett Joins the Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors

Nikki Tippett, Treasury Management Specialist for Clarkston State Bank, will be joining the Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 2018. Nikki grew up and went to school in Waterford. She has worked for Clarkston State Bank for 6 years, with the last 3 years in their Waterford Office. In her position, she has helped bring technology to bank customers with a mobile app and remote options to make banking more convenient, as well as representing the bank with the Chamber. “We are delighted to have Nikki as the newest addition to the WACC Board of Directors,” says Marie Hauswirth, Executive Director. “No doubt she will be a stellar addition to the success of the Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce.”


CSB Supports the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Benefit for the Disabled

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Benefit for the Disabled held their Holiday Shopping Spree Event on Saturday, December 9, 2017. 125 children were invited to spend the day with Rudolph, Santa, the Pink Panther, Elmo, and members of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department and the Waterford Regional Fire Department. Each child was granted $50 to spend on gifts for family members and themselves, and also received a large food basket complete with a Turkey, non-perishable, and fresh foods. Clarkston State Bank sponsored a child and volunteered at the event.

5th Annual Back Roads Half Marathon & 10k/5k Race

Clarkston State Bank sponsored their fifth annual Back Roads Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k run/walk on Sunday, November 12th, 2017. The race included over 1,000 runners, walkers and participants who made their way along a course that featured a mixture of trails, back roads and wood bridges through Independence Oaks County Park near Clarkston, MI. The race proceeds will provide support to two Oakland County non-profit organizations. For more details, visit our Race website.

Clarkston State Bank Supports Habitat for Humanity Oakland County Operations with New Truck Donation

In the spring of 2017, Clarkston State Bank provided significant support to Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County with a cash donation that enabled Habitat ReStores of Oakland County to purchase a much-needed new delivery truck. This donation continues CSB’s relationship with Habitat Oakland, where J. Grant Smith, Clarkston State Bank’s President & CEO, has served on the Habitat Oakland County Board of Directors for the past two years. Clarkston State Bank has been devoted to helping our community prosper, and we are proud to partner with Habitat Oakland to support our neighbors in need. 


Clarkston State Bank recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as an SBA Preferred Lender

Clarkston State Bank has gained recognition from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as a preferred lender participant (PLP) for its 7(a) Loan Program. A Preferred Lender is considered an expert in SBA regulations and guidelines and is granted the authority to act as a direct agent of the federal agency. This designation also expedites the approval process by the SBA, providing a substantial benefit to potential clients. “This achievement recognizes the SBA’s confidence in our ability and our lending practices,” said J. Clarkston High School’s Fieldhouse Renovations Become a Reality with the Help of Clarkston State Bank

When Clarkston State Bank saw a community need that they could help fulfill, they contacted the high school and offered support to help complete the stalled renovations for the athletic fieldhouse locker rooms, concessions area and meeting space. With the bank’s $50,000 contribution, the fieldhouse, now officially known as the Clarkston State Bank Fieldhouse, was completed in time for the fall 2014 football season. “That was really the turning point for our athletic boosters’ fundraising efforts,” said Head Football Coach Kurt Richardson. “It was exactly the boost we needed to reignite and generate additional capital.”
